Provides a program for care partners to help them strengthen their caregiving knowledge and skillsHelps care partners manage the day-to-day care of an individual living with dementia, reduce stress and burden, and improve their ability to cope with the demands of caregivingIndividual counselling and maintenance groups are now also availableCARERS (Coaching, Advocacy, Respite, Education, Relationship, Simulation)- Offers an eight week, skills-based group that teaches practical skills and problem solving techniques needed to care for someone living with dementia
- Teaches communication skills through the use of simulation
- Offers emotional support
TEACH (Training, Education and Assistance for Caregiving at Home)- Offers a four week, interactive group that allows care partners to share and learn from other care partners
- Provides practical communication and coping skills
- Focuses on self-care, navigating the healthcare system, relationship changes, and future planning
