Provides support for the economic, social, mental and physical well-being of veterans, and their dependents

Services include the following:
  • Disability Pensions/Awards
  • War Veterans Allowance
  • Counselling
  • Rehabilitation Services
  • Emergency Assistance
  • Assistance with health care expenses such as glasses, medical travel costs, assistive technology

Veterans' Independence Program
  • Provides financial assistance for home support services and institutional care

  • Former and certain current members of the Canadian Forces


  • Allied veterans who lived in Canada prior to periods of war


  • Certain civilians with wartime service


  • Former and certain serving members of the RCMP


  • Dependants and survivors of the above groups
