Service Description: Functions as a volunteer based community organization providing compassionate companionship to individuals and their families as they respond to end of life challenges
Hospice Northwest provides
support to those who are living with or dying from illness or disease, and also provides grief and bereavement support to both adults and children for those who have lost a loved one through various support programs

  • Functions as a volunteer based community organization
  • Offers a variety of support services to individuals living with a life threatening illness, and those who have been bereaved
  • Offers a library of up to date resources for clients, caregivers, volunteers and the general public
  • Compassionate Support
    • Enhances the quality of life during a serious illness
    • Provides compassionate support for palliative clients defined by the client and/or family and can include practical assistance and in-home respite
    Bereavement and Grief Support
    • Offers support to individuals grieving the loss of a loved one through death, and wishes to be supported on a one-on-one supportive relationship with a volunteer
    • Offers a peer support group 3-4 times per year for people who have experienced the death of a loved one

    • Referrals can be made by anyone, as long as the individual is aware of the referral

    • An interview is set up and the client and volunteer are matched
