Service Description:

Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Eabametoong First Nation

Tribal Council: Matawa First Nations Management (MFNM)
Political Territorial Organization: Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN)
Treaty #9

Operates a detoxification program for community members struggling with problematic prescription drug use

Functions as a day program

Offers the drug suboxone in place of methadone to minimize the effects of withdrawal

Program includes the following services:

Intake
Withdrawal treatment
Counselling
Aftercare

Also provides:

Mental health and addictions counselling
Referrals to other treatment centres and programs such as Nodin Child & Family Intervention Services in Sioux Lookout

Open to referrals from any source
Requires completed registration package; name will be added to waiting list for program admission

Members of Eabametoong First Nation struggling with addictions issues, especially OxyContin/prescription drug addiction
