Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Eabametoong First Nation
  • Tribal Council: Matawa First Nations Management (MFNM)
  • Political Territorial Organization: Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN)

  • Operates a detoxification program for community members struggling with problematic prescription drug use
  • Functions as a day program
  • Offers the drug suboxone in place of methadone to minimize the effects of withdrawal
  • Program includes the following services:
    • Intake
    • Withdrawal treatment
    • Counselling
    • Aftercare
    Also provides:
    • Mental health and addictions counselling
    • Referrals to other treatment centres and programs such as Nodin Child & Family Intervention Services in Sioux Lookout

    • Open to referrals from any source

    • Requires completed registration package; name will be added to waiting list for program admission
    Eligibility / Target Population: Members of Eabametoong First Nation struggling with addictions issues, especially OxyContin/prescription drug addiction
