Service Description: Operates a self government and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Cat Lake First Nation

Functions as the governing centre for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities
Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements through Nishnawbe-Aski Police Services, Northwest Region; 2 full-time NAPS officers on-reserve; local ph: 807-347-2099; fax: 807-347-2563
  • Child and Family Services worker on-reserve provided through Tikinagan Child and Family Services in Sioux Lookout
  • Hospital services available at Meno Ya Win Health Centre in Sioux Lookout
  • Offers 1 main store (Northern), Cat Lake Lodge, Gray's Motel, a few small privately-run businesses and a local radio station
  • Operates a Canada Post postal service located in the Band Office
  • Operates a small airport maintained and serviced by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and served by Wasaya Airways and Cat Air
