Service Description:
  • Offers a 17-week program designed to help fathers improve their relationship with their children
  • Offers confidential, closed weekly group sessions for approximately 12 men per group

  • Focus of the program is to:
    • Assist men to end the use of abusive parenting strategies
    • Increase understanding of how the abuse of women impacts their children
    • Increase awareness of and responsibility for abusive and neglectful parenting and its impact on children
    • Increase awareness of child-centred fathering
    • Motivate men to begin the process of examining their fathering

    Fees: None
    Application:
    • Referrals accepted from agencies or self-referral
    • Requires initial screening interview
    • Call one of the Program Facilitators for information
    Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Fathers who have been neglectful or have emotionally and/or physically abused or are at-risk of abusing their children, and/or fathers who have been abusive towards their children's mother
