Service Description: Located on Arthur St W

  • Coordinates forest fire detection, monitoring, suppression and public information and education services
  • Leads emergency management planning and response for natural hazards such as forest fires, floods, erosion, dam failures, unstable soils and bedrock, droughts and oil and gas emergencies

  • Other services include:
    • Personnel and resources necessary for managing forest fires
    • Fire prevention and detection
    • Policy development and strategies
    • Aviation administration
    • Flight and maintenance crews and equipment to support forest fire management
    • Specialized aviation services, including non-scheduled air transport for all government ministries and agencies
    • Co-ordination of emergency response planning
