Service Description: Offers search and rescue services

Located in the Dorion Building on the Confederation College campus on Nakina Dr

  • Functions as a volunteer organization devoted to all phases of land search and rescue within Thunder Bay District
  • Offers training programs
  • Performs practical and simulated rescues
  • Offers education in survival techniques
  • Provides assistance through the City Police 807-625-1260 and the Ontario Provincial Police 807-344-8421

  • Project Lifesaver
    • Operates a special program for individuals who wander
    • Provides a transmitter bracelet for clients to identify their location

    Eligibility - Population(s) Served:
    • Requires a Provincial Certification Course and 1 year probationary period as well as a Criminal Reference Check from Ontario Provincial Police

    • Individuals with Alzheimer's or children with Autism
    • Clients must wear transmitter bracelet and have a caregiver providing 24-hour service
